About the Journal
ABOUT THE JOURNAL
JIB is an international scholarly journal that publishes original essays and studies on ancient and modern interactive papers and books of historical, artistic, scientific, and educational interest.
It is published as an open-access, peer-reviewed electronic version.
SECTION POLICIES
Articles
JIB publishes original scholarly and research contributions, not previously published, or submitted to other journals. Papers in this section must be 20,000 to 50,000 characters, whitespaces and footnotes included.
Reports and Reviews
JIB hosts report of exhibitions, conferences, and reviews. Texts proposed for this section should not exceed 10,000 characters.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Each paper proposed for publication is first read by the editor, deputy editor, or one of the members of the scientific committee, who, if they evaluate it as scientifically sound and of potential interest to the readers of JIB, send it to at least two reviewers. The purpose of the review is to provide the authors with a competent and reasoned opinion on the quality of the proposal itself and possible suggestions aimed at its improvement.
The essays published in the Articles section are subjected to a "double blind" peer review.
Reviewers are chosen by the editor, based on criteria of expertise, from among external experts or members of the Scientific Committee. They are given three options:
- Yes
- Yes, but with modifications
- No
The correspondence between the changes suggested by the reviewers and those made by the authors is evaluated by the editor, the deputy editor or one of the members of the scientific committee.
The peer review process, like the entire editorial flow, is managed through the OJS .
JIB participates in the ReviewerCredit program for certification and recognition of peer review activity. After conclusion of a review, reviewers can apply for credits on the ReviewerCredit site and receive certification of reviews conducted for JIB.
