This paper examines the experimental project Dioramami, an investigation into the narrative potential of the interactive book as a threshold device between documentary reality (photography) and dreamlike fiction (illustration). Through the analysis of three original case studies — The World Above, the Carousel of Memory, and the Autobiographical Box — the research explores how different paper engineering structures (pop-up, carousel, and tunnel books) act as tools for translating private memories and pedagogical concepts. Drawing on the author’s roots in the world of historical publishing, the essay describes a hybrid workflow that combines digital design with meticulous manual craftsmanship. The goal is to demonstrate how the recovery of ancient artisanal techniques, integrated with multimedia languages, allows the interactive book to function as a modern "cabinet of wonders," meeting the needs of contemporary visual communication while preserving the tactility of the artistic artifact.
