Keywords:
Artist’s archive; Personal archive; Description; Documentary complexityAbstract
The archives of artists represent a way of collecting a variety of documents which is particularly interesting
on account of the materials they include as well as their ability to document creativity. In this paper an
attempt is made to reflect on the nature of these archival collections, what they consist of and the relation
between analogical and digital materials. After considering the presence of both traditional and museum-
like materials, the paper discusses the specific features of one archive and the conservative practices
used while talking about them with a well-known creator of pop-up books.
